Iced over
Yesterday saw Struan take a group of eleven over to Colonsay. This was because the group were meant to be flying from Oban Airport, but the runway was iced over and no planes could land or take off. It was a great day to be out on the water and with the Easterly wind gave a comfortable journey to Conlonsay. Snow has arrived
Today we have had our first snow of the Winter at sea level. There is only a small covering but more is on its way on Sunday. Lets hope it stays around for Christmas Day but doesn’t cause any travel problems for anyone.

Late Run
The workforce were back out to Lismore lighthouse for a final session before Christmas. It was a late run from Oban with 3 workers and all of their supplies. The weather was kind to Coastal Connection with the wind dropping from the SW. It was a low tide making the slipway tricky under foot. The rain was off and a smooth run back to Loch Feochan made it a good night for navigation.

She left Coll this morning on a local fishing boat to get to Tobermory then took a taxi to Craignure, where Coastal Connection picked her up and took her to Oban. This transfer was due to there being no ferries running and other ferries not suitable for her schedule. We...
